At the international show in Beijing, held in April 2014, the official debut of the five-door Geely Emgrand 7 hatch was organized (in fact, it is an EC7-RV in an updated guise). The car has undergone not only cosmetic improvements to the exterior, but also received an improved interior with a modernized technical component.
In the Celestial Empire, the car has been available to buyers since the summer of 2014, but whether it will be offered to the Russians is still unknown.
And before the restyling of the Emgrand EC7-RV from Geely in a five-door body, it looked decent, and after the changes it got a more expressive, cute and fashionable look, which is not alien to a certain sportiness.
The overall length of the Chinese hatch is 4425 mm, of which 2650 mm is between the axles, its width does not exceed 1789 mm, and its height fits into 1470 mm. In the "stowed" form, the vehicle's ground clearance is 167 mm.
Inside, the Emgrand 7 hatchback retained its recognizable architecture, but acquired a more modern design and became better in terms of finishing materials. The car features a four-spoke multi-steering wheel, a stylish and informative instrument cluster, and an ergonomically organized center console.
The five-door has a roomy interior decoration with a sufficient amount of free space and well-profiled seats in both rows: comfortable chairs with a well-defined side profile are based in the front, and a full-fledged three-seater sofa in the back.
Like its predecessor EC7-RV, the cargo compartment of the restyled Emgrand 7 in the hatchback body holds from 390 to 1000 liters, depending on the position of the backs of the second row of seats. For all versions of the "Chinese", a full-fledged spare wheel is provided, located in a niche under the raised floor.
Specifications. In the Middle Kingdom, the updated version of the hatchback is equipped exclusively with petrol "fours", directing the flow of power in full to the front wheels.
- By default, under the hood of the Emgrand 7 RV is an atmospheric 1.5-liter engine, the potential of which has 109 "horses" at 6000 rpm and 140 Nm of possible torque at 4400 rpm. It is accompanied by a 5-speed "mechanics" or a stepless variator.
- More efficient cars are equipped with a 1.3-liter turbo engine with direct fuel supply, generating a herd of 133 "heads" at 5500 rpm and 185 Nm of torque at 2000-4500 rpm and combined with a six-speed "mechanics" or variator.
The peak of the five-door's capabilities is at 170-182 km / h, and its fuel "appetite" in the "highway / city" mode is from 5.7 to 5.9 liters, depending on the version.
However, it is assumed that the car will enter the Russian market with the same gasoline units - these are "atmospheric" with a four-cylinder layout with a volume of 1.5-1.8 liters, producing 98-126 horsepower and 126-172 Nm of available potential.
Technically, the five-door version of Emgrand 7 practically does not differ from the pre-reform model: a front-wheel drive "bogie" with an independent chassis based on MacPherson struts at the front and a semi-independent torsion beam at the rear and four-wheel disc brakes.
Cars with a basic engine "flaunt" a hydraulic control amplifier, and more powerful modifications are allocated an electric amplifier.
Options and prices. The restyled hatchback Emgrand 7 may reach Russian buyers in 2017. As for the cost, the car will definitely not be much more expensive than its predecessor, which in 2016 is sold in our country at a price of 609,000 rubles.
The basic configuration of the five-door includes: two airbags, "music", air conditioning, ABS, EBD, power steering, power windows "in a circle" and other functionality.
