For the first time as a concept car with the name TX, the crossover was presented to the general public in April 2012 at the Beijing International Auto Show, and its commercial model debuted in the same place exactly four years later - in 2016. A few months after the official premiere, the car entered mass production and its sales in the Chinese market started in October 2016 ... And it only reached Russia in March 2019.
The exterior of Chery Tiggo 7 demonstrates a new design direction developed by the chief artist of the Chinese brand - American James Hope. And I must say, this SUV looks beautiful, impressive and distinctive ... especially from the front - exposing an intricate plastic "face" with complex headlights, a hexagonal radiator grill, which is crossed by a horizontal chrome bar, and a sculpted bumper.
From other angles, the off-road vehicle has a less original look, but nevertheless, you definitely cannot blame it for its facelessness: a tightly knocked down silhouette with a dropping roof, a smoothly rising window sill line, expressive "splashes" on the sidewalls and rounded-square wheel arches and lean stern with beautiful lanterns and an embossed trunk lid.
With its dimensions, Chery Tiggo 7 corresponds to the concept of a compact segment: it is 4505 mm long, 1837 mm wide, and 1670 mm high. The wheelbase at the five-door is 2670 mm, and its ground clearance is 210 mm.
In the "combat" state, the vehicle weight varies from 1390 to 1440 kg (depending on the modification).
The interior of the crossover is made with an eye on the youth audience - which is only a kind of intricately shaped dashboard, located behind a three-spoke multi-steering wheel, with two dials and a large display between them.
The center console looks modern and restrained - only a 9-inch monitor of the entertainment and information complex, microclimate blocks with three regulators and several additional buttons flaunt on it. The decoration of the car is well thought out from an ergonomic point of view and made at a solid level.

The "gallery" is folded in a pair of asymmetrical sections (but does not form an even "rookery"), thereby bringing the capacity of the "hold" to 1100 liters. Chery Tiggo 7 is equipped with two petrol four-cylinder engines to choose from:

- More efficient versions are equipped with a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, a multi-point "power supply" system, 16 valves and phase shifters at the outlet and intake, which develops 152 hp. at 5500 rpm and 205 Nm of peak thrust at 2000-4000 rpm.
The "junior" unit is installed in a junction with a continuously variable variator and front-wheel drive transmission, and the "senior" unit is installed with a 6-speed "mechanics" or 6-band "robot" DCT.
The maximum car can accelerate to 185-190 km / h, and in combined conditions it "digests" from 6.3 to 6.7 liters of fuel for each "hundred" (depending on the version).
At the heart of Chery Tiggo 7 is a front-wheel drive chassis with a transversely placed power plant and a monocoque body, in the "skeleton" of which high-strength steels are widely used.
On both axles of the five-door, independent suspensions with transverse stabilizers, coil springs and hydraulic shock absorbers are used: in the front - of the MacPherson type, in the rear - a multi-link layout.
The car is equipped with a rack and pinion steering center with electric power steering, and each of its wheels is equipped with disc brakes (ventilated on the front axle) with ABS, EBD and other electronics.
In the Russian market, Chery Tiggo 7 can be purchased in three equipment options - "Sport", "Luxury" and "Elite".
The crossover in the basic configuration is offered only with a 1.5-liter engine and "mechanics" at a price of 1 199 900 rubles.
By default, he relies on: two front airbags, air conditioning, 18-inch alloy wheels, electric drive and heated mirrors, power windows for all doors, heated front seats, a media center with a 9-inch screen, a rear view camera, keyless entry system, rear parking sensors, system ERA-GLONASS, ABS, ESP, "music" with four speakers and other equipment.
The remaining two versions are supplied only with "aspirated" for 2.0 liters: the "Luxury" version will cost from 1,279,900 rubles, and for the "Elite" you will have to pay at least 1,369,900 rubles.
The most "sophisticated" car boasts (in addition to the above options): perforated leather upholstery, side airbags, panoramic cameras, front parking sensors, electric front seats, heated steering wheel, windshield, windscreen washer nozzles and rear seats, electric folding mirrors with six speakers, dual-zone "climate" and other "chips".
