The Kia K900 is a rear- or all-wheel-drive executive sedan leading the South Korean automaker's model range, which combines noble design, luxurious interior furnishings, high-performance technical stuffing and a rich level of equipment ... The main target audience of the car is married men over thirty years old who have their own business or high-ranking government officials ...

The official debut of the second generation Kia K900 took place at the end of March 2018 at the International New York Auto Show, but a week before this event, it was presented in South Korea under the local name K9.

The F-class sedan, the predecessor of which was sold in Russia under the name Quoris, has changed dramatically compared to the previous model - it has become more noble on the outside, enlarged in size, tried on a more presentable interior, "armed" with powerful power units, simultaneously receiving an optional all-wheel drive transmission, and acquired a large number of modern "bells and whistles".

Outside, the second generation Kia K900 flaunts elegant, balanced, noble and austere outlines of the body, but in its appearance every now and then there are associations with cars of famous premium brands.

The "arrogant" front of the executive sedan is decorated with "two-story" lighting technology, a large grille with a honeycomb pattern and a raised bumper with a wide air intake, and its monumental rear is crowned with stylish lanterns reminiscent of Bentley, and a pair of figured tailpipes of the exhaust system.

In profile, the four-door is distinguished by a classic silhouette with a long hood, a smoothly sloping roof that turns into a solid stern, expressive sides, accentuated by a chrome-plated "ski" running along the lower edge of the doors, and impressive strokes of the wheel arches.

In terms of its dimensions, the "ka-nine hundredth" is a full-fledged representative of the F-class according to the European classification: its length extends to 5120 mm, of which 3105 mm is the distance between the wheelsets, and the width and height are 1915 mm and 1490 mm, respectively.

In the "combat" state, the car weighs from 1988 to 2255 kg, depending on the modification.

Inside the "second" Kia K900 meets VIP-inhabitants with an elegant and presentable, but laconic design, which does not have contradictory solutions and excesses.

At the driver's workplace, there is a weighty four-spoke steering wheel with original outlines and a fully digital instrument cluster (although in the basic versions there is a dial gauge with a 7-inch display between the scales). The center console attracts attention with its monumentality and restraint - it is topped by a 12.3-inch screen of the entertainment and information center, under which there is a Swiss analog clock and a stylish "microclimate" button block.

In addition to this, the interior of the sedan boasts carefully thought-out ergonomics and exclusively premium finishing materials - expensive leather, natural wood, brushed aluminum, etc.

The front seats in the second generation Kia K900 are equipped with comfortable seats with wide-spaced side bolsters, a large number of electric adjustments, heating and ventilation.

On the second row - everything is of the highest category: a cozy three-seater sofa (although literally everything here hints that the third passenger will be superfluous) with a folding armrest, which contains all the service settings, heating, ventilation and electric settings, as well as two monitors located in the front seats.

The arsenal of the full-size sedan includes a spacious luggage compartment, the volume of which exceeds 450 liters (exact figures have not yet been disclosed). The underground niche hides a small spare wheel and the necessary set of tools.

On the Russian market, the "second" Kia K900 is offered with two gasoline "aspirated":

  • Under the hood of the basic modifications, there is a V-shaped six-cylinder unit with a working volume of 3.3 liters with distributed fuel injection, a 24-valve timing structure and variable valve timing, which generates 249 horsepower at 6400 rpm and 347 Nm of torque at 5300 rpm.
  • The "top" versions of the sedan are powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine with an aluminum block and cylinder head, direct-feed technology, 32-valve timing and phase shifters at the inlet and outlet, producing 413 hp. at 6000 rpm and 505 Nm of rotational potential at 5000 rpm.

Both motors are combined with an 8-band "automatic" and all-wheel drive transmission with an electronically controlled front wheel clutch and DTVC dynamic traction redistribution system. Depending on the selected driving mode, up to 50% of the moment can be transferred to the front axle, and up to 80% to the rear axle.

In other countries, the car is equipped with other engines (as well as driving rear wheels) - a 3.8-liter "aspirated" V6 GDI, developing 315 hp, and a V-shaped "six" 3.3 T-GDI turbocharged, producing 370 h.p.

At the heart of the second generation Kia K900 is a "rear-wheel drive" platform with a longitudinally oriented motor and a monocoque body, the power structure of which is more than 80% of high-strength grades of steel.

An independent double wishbone suspension is used on the front axle of the car, and a multi-link system on the rear. By default, the executive sedan is equipped with passive shock absorbers and anti-roll bars, and, as an option, electronically controlled adaptive dampers.

The four-door is equipped with rack and pinion steering and active electric power steering, and all its wheels are equipped with ventilated disc brakes, complemented by a bunch of modern electronic "assistants".

In the Russian market, the "second" Kia K900 will appear on dealerships in the first half of 2019, while its "screwdriver" assembly has been carried out at the Avtotor Kaliningrad plant since the end of January. The sedan will be presented in three trim levels ("Luxe", "Prestige" and "Premium") at a price of ≈2.7 million rubles (for comparison, at home, in South Korea, this car can be purchased at a price of 53,890,000 won, and this is ≈3.2 million rubles).
