Audi S7 Sportback is an all-wheel drive premium liftback of a full-size category, positioned by the automaker itself as a “four-door coupe” (and this is with five doors) ... Its main target audience is wealthy people who want to get a prestigious, practical and comfortable, but at the same time a truly driver's car ...

The official premiere of the "second" Audi S7 Sportback (albeit only in European specification, with a diesel engine under the hood) took place in April 2019 during a virtual presentation, but a few months later the "global" version of the model with a gasoline turbo engine V6 (designed for Russia as well).

Externally, the Audi S7 Sportback of the second generation looks no less elegant than the "civilian" model, and a bit of sportiness is added to it by more aggressive bumpers, silver mirror housings, widened wheel arches, uniquely designed wheels and a pair of large-caliber "double-barreled" exhaust systems.

Size and weight

The full-size liftback measures 4979 mm, 1908 mm and 1417 mm in length, width and height, respectively, and has a wheelbase of 2928 mm.

In the equipped form, the five-door weighs 2040 kg, and its total weight fits into 2590 kg.

Interior

Inside the Audi S7 Sportback of the second generation, it "flaunts" a progressive design and a high-class level of performance, but its "charged essence" can be recognized only by the S-nameplates and sports front seats with integrated head restraints and a pronounced side profile (well, also by the optional steering wheel "With a truncated rim).

For the rest, it is on par with the standard model: a four- or five-seater cabin layout and a trunk with a volume of 535 to 1390 liters (depending on the position of the rear row backrest).

Specifications

Under the hood of the "second" Audi S7 Sportback there is a six-cylinder TFSI petrol unit with a working volume of 2.9 liters with a V-configuration, twin turbocharging, an additional electric supercharger, direct fuel injection, a 24-valve timing and a valve lift control system, producing 450 horsepower at 5700- 6700 rpm and 600 Nm of torque at 1900-5000 rpm.

In conjunction with the engine work the classic "automatic" ZF with eight gears and permanent all-wheel drive quattro with a central limited slip differential. Normally, the thrust is divided between the axles in a ratio of 40:60 in favor of the rear, but if necessary, up to 70% of the moment can be sent forward, and up to 85% - back.

Dynamics, speed and consumption

The first "hundred" five-door conquers in 4.6 seconds, the maximum "rests" at 250 km / h. Fuel consumption in combined driving conditions averages 8.5 liters of gasoline for every 100 kilometers.

Design features

Structurally, the second "release" of the Audi S7 Sportback as a whole repeats the standard "seven" - the modular platform MLB Evo based on high-strength steel and aluminum, independent front double-link and rear multi-link (with adaptive dampers), electric power steering and variable gear ratio , ventilated disc brakes "in a circle".

At the same time, as an option, the car relies on air suspension, a fully-steered chassis with steering wheels on the rear axle and carbon-ceramic brakes.

Options and prices

In Russia, the second generation Audi S7 Sportback (2020 model year) is sold at a price of 7,041,000 rubles, but this figure can be increased by almost one and a half times due to a huge amount of additional equipment.

In the "base", the premium liftback has: six airbags, ABS, ESP, four-zone climate control, 20-inch wheels, a virtual "toolbox", a media center, electric drive and heated front seats, all-LED optics, premium "music" Bang & Olufsen, electric boot lid and other "tricks".
