Opel Zafira Life is a front-wheel drive minivan, available in a wide range of options, which combines: balanced design, excellent level of practicality and functionality, modern technical component and a good level of equipment ... The target audience of the car does not have any strict framework - it can be and family people with several children, who love outdoor activities and travel, and private traders in need of "multifunctional transport", and entrepreneurs ...

The official premiere of the Opel Zafira Life took place on January 18, 2019 at the international auto show in Brussels - it became another twin brother of such models as Peugeot Traveler, Citroen SpaceTourer and Toyota ProAce Verso, differing from them only by emblems and a radiator grille.

In the range of the German company, the one-volume model replaced the Opel Vivaro, built on the basis of Renault Trafic, and borrowed the name from Zafira for the sole purpose of attracting family buyers.

Exterior

Externally, the Opel Zafira Life looks quite attractive, harmonious and modern, and there are no contradictory design solutions in its outlines. True, the car has the most interesting view from the front, and all thanks to the "family" design of the German brand - frowned headlights with chrome "boomerangs" above the main lens, a stylish radiator grill and a massive bumper with LED "garlands" of running lights.

In profile, this is a classic minivan with a one-piece silhouette that is balanced and flaunts almost flat sides, large glass area and correct wheel arch cutouts.

And from the rear, the car does not stand out with something special - a huge trunk lid, which occupies almost the entire sheer stern, and neat vertical lights.

The Opel Zafira Life has three lengths - 4600 mm, 4950 mm and 5300 mm, of which the distance between the wheelsets is 2925 mm or 3275 mm.

Regardless of the modification, the single-volume tank is 1920 mm wide, does not exceed 1890 mm in height, and its ground clearance fits into 175 mm.

Interior

Inside, the German minivan looks cute, proportional and fresh, and even boasts well-thought-out ergonomics and high-quality workmanship. "Chubby" multi-steering wheel with a flattened rim in the lower part, stylish and laconic "instrumentation" with multifaceted edging of the main instruments, a monumental center console with a 7-inch display of the infotainment complex, a modern climate "control" and a small "ebb" in the lower parts that serve as a haven for the gearbox selector - in the car there is not even a hint of utility.

The capacity of the Opel Zafira Life depends on the modification - so the basic version shows two rows of seats and a five-seater layout, while for the remaining two (that is, "medium" and extended) an optional third row is offered, the installation of which can bring the total number of seats to nine pieces.

Full order in a single-volume and with cargo capacity - "German" is capable of transporting from 1 to 1.2 tons of luggage, despite the fact that the volume of its cargo compartment is from 550 to 4200 liters. A full-size spare tire is suspended from the car outside - under the bottom.

Specifications

In the countries of the Old World, two diesel engines are announced for the Opel Zafira Life:

  • The first is a turbocharged, turbocharged, direct-injection, 16-valve, 1.5-liter BlueHDI Quartet that generates 120 horsepower at 3500 rpm and 300 Nm of torque at 1750 rpm.
  • The second is a 2.0-liter four-cylinder BlueHDI unit with a turbocharger, a battery power system and a 16-valve timing belt, available in two boost options:
    • 150 h.p. at 4000 rpm and 370 Nm of ultimate thrust at 2000 rpm;
    • 177 h.p. at 3750 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 2000 rpm.

The engines are paired with 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmissions, which direct the full potential to the wheels of the front axle.

Design features

At the heart of the Opel Zafira Life is the EMP2 front-wheel drive architecture, already familiar from many Peugeot and Citroen models, which implies a transverse arrangement of the unit, as well as the presence of a monocoque body with extensive use of high-strength types of steel in the power structure.

"In a circle" the car is equipped with independent suspensions: classic MacPherson struts are installed on the front axle, and a spring-lever system is installed on the rear axle.

On the one-volume, steering with a rack and pinion structure and an electric amplifier is used.

Disc brakes (ventilated at the front) are used on all wheels of the minivan, which work in conjunction with ABS, EBD and other electronic assistants.
